Dancing the night away

Every night (I think) around 8pm to 10pm, there is a square by the river that comes alive with dance and song.  Dance teachers show up and teach people to dance for free.  They fight over territory and blast their megaphones and music all compacted onto a mobile sound system.  It is often too loud if you ask me and sometimes when there are four groups being too loud, it can get quite chaotic as well.  In this video, I am recording a lines of people learning to dance the Cha Cha.  My room mate, Jon Haase is dancing and at the end you can see me dancing.  Other groups include, the belly dancing women with gold jingly things around their waste, the rumba, and the traditional chinese excercise line up.

How much is that Froggy in the street?

Yes, this video is of frogs being sold by the bunch.  The woman decides not to by anything.  However, I didn't realize this but you can hear me speaking a little chinese at the end of the video, if that interests you at all.  Anyway, I just thought it was funny to see the frogs trying to escape in bunches with all their legs tied together !!

Embarrasing myself at Kareoke

Yes, this is me attempting to sing.  Keep in mind I have already sung like twenty songs and my voice is beginning to disappear.  We sang for four hours straight!!! I thought it was a bit much, but it was still a good time.  In this video I am singing a song that came out of Taiwan maybe ten or fifteen years ago.  I am singing it with my friend Yang Zhen Yu.  He thought it was pretty funny that I learned this song because he said it was only popular when he was in middle school.  Please enjoy this video and after you are done laughing, then you can commence to make fun of me if you would like (or not, really or not).

Walking through a street market in Guangzhou

This Video covers walking through a street of shops just outside the wall of Sun Yat-Sen University.  I think it gives a good feel of the types of stores you can find throughout the city.  However, there still are westernized malls and nicer shopping streets.  Still, these types of street markets are numerous and popular.
